Windsurfing
Windsurfing ties with mountain biking as my favourite sport, and has done since learning to water-start in about 1995 (before that it was, quite simply, the most frustrating thing I'd ever attempted!). Although we reluctantly eBayed all our own windsurfing gear in 2008 (apart from harnesses), realising (rather late) that the opportunity to dunk ourselves in the delightful waters of the south coast were few and far between when we had 2 young kids in tow; we have recently attempted to go on a windsurfing holiday abroad once a year. The kids are now of an age where they delight in the social joys of kids' clubs, and we can, meanwhile, make use of the reliably strong wind conditions in places like Egypt (and, in the future hopefully, Terifa and Morocco). This is a tradition I'm keen to continue, particularly since I finally cracked the carve-gybe in summer 2008.
